Career Path

Associate
As an Associate you are new to the Firm but are already a very integral part of the team.  You will be developing your skills in both the Tax and Audit arenas; no need to pick one over the other prior to the start of your career!  At Dean Dorton Allen Ford we believe that developing a solid understanding of both audit and tax issues will make you a stronger CPA.

You will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements in industries such as equine, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, natural resources and more. You will be challenged and mentored and well on your way to creating the career that best fits you.

Specialist
As a Specialist with Dean Dorton Allen Ford you are clearly headed down your career path. This is the time you are beginning to determine what long-term career track you want to follow -- do you want to focus on Tax, Audit or do you want to continue to do both? You have developed technical and leadership skills and continue to build upon those skills with challenging assignments and continuous professional development. 

Supervisor
As a Supervisor you are advancing in your career. You are supervising work and staff on client engagements and have begun to demonstrate “ownership” of the client’s well being. You are effectively mentoring Associates and Specialists and are responsible for their on the job training, evaluation and professional development. You are also beginning to assist with Firm administration and management functions as requested.

Manager
As a Manager you are managing significant portions of client engagements and providing advanced, specialized technical support to clients. You are managing client work by assigning, mentoring, and developing other staff. You are beginning to develop a network of personal referral sources and beginning to develop new work for the firm.

Associate Director
As an Associate Director with Dean Dorton Allen Ford you have demonstrated the ability to successfully build, direct, manage and continuously develop successful client engagement teams. You are widely recognized for your technical skills and sought after for that knowledge and expertise. You continue to develop new work for the Firm by expanding services to existing clients and/or bringing in new client work. You are also a key player in the leadership and management of the Firm.

Director
As a Director with Dean Dorton Allen Ford you are one of the leaders and visionaries and recognized as such by all members of the Firm. You are making significant and substantial contributions to the growth and reputation of the firm. As Directors you are managing all aspects of client engagements and relationships and continually developing new contacts and new business.
